Motivation
Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. 1 Corinthians 9:24
What motivates you? When you know you’re motivated, you’ll be willing to step out of your comfort zone, put overtime in, and generally do the best you possibly can. Maybe it’s for that relationship turn round/ exam you have to pass/ sibling to know God’s love/ friend to find self-worth/ youth group to grow.
Now, if you think you know where this is going, and it’s another so-go-do-the-same-thing-for-God line, read on. I know that it’s not possible to always be motivated to the extreme to do all of the above in your Christian walk; it can be a long-haul that can require some perseverance. But when we find ourselves lacking motivation to step out for the gospel, we have to do something super-important: a self-review.
Is there something hindering me from actually being free to move forward?
You know the ‘…the sin that so easily entangles’ verse? (Hebrews 12:1) Put it into practice. Consider what stops you in body, mind or spirit from being pumped. Letting go of these things gives us God-given freedom. That’s motivation, right?
Prayer
Heavenly Father, help me to get and stay motivated at what I am doing so I can do it to Your glory! In Jesus’ Name, Amen
