Vice President of the Universe
Do you see a man skilled in his work? He will serve before kings; he will not serve before obscure men. Proverbs 22:29
Irritating isn’t it? Clearly you’ve got the voice that should be heard by millions on iTunes, and yet nobody has given you the opportunity. Or maybe you look at the stars of the screen and know you could do a better job if fate would throw you a lucky break. And maybe, just maybe, you’ve snored your way through one too many Sunday sermons and you just know you could lead this church better than the Pastor.
So why are you Billy Nobody when you could clearly run the world far smoother given the chance? Why isn’t God promoting you to Vice President of the Universe? Could the answer lie in the Luke 16:10? ‘If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones…’ In other words, ‘you’ve got to start somewhere!’
So before you lead millions in worship on CD, think about singing honestly to God alone in your bedroom. Or before you start planning to lead a world-renowned church, try volunteering to clean your current church toilets. If you are faithful with a toilet brush now, you might just be faithful serving a large church in the future. In God’s eyes, it’s not about prestigious jobs, only faithful servants.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for being a servant and emptying Yourself fully, redeeming me. There’s the power to be a servant. Humble me to be a servant and let You open the rest. In Jesus’ Name, Amen
