Dynamic Duo
Moreover, I have appointed Oholiab son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan, to help him. Also I have given skill to all the craftsmen to make everything I have commanded you: Exodus 31:6
Today we’re looking at one of the Bible’s Dynamic Duos. Not Paul and Timothy, Moses and Aaron, or even David and Jonathan. Allow me to introduce to you Bezalel and Oholiab, craftsman by trade. You can find them in Exodus 31:1-11. They had a ridiculously specific task to carry out in order to make God’s tabernacle. Works that human minds couldn’t dream up. The type that would leave people floored, open-mouthed and looking up to heaven. These were God appointments – and He empowered Bezalel, Oholiab and their team so the works of their hands flourished.
That’s actually pretty serious; before Acts 2:1-4 God didn’t give His Spirit to people in general, only to certain individuals for specific tasks, so these guys had it going for them. The Bible says they were specifically chosen by God, equipped and anointed by Him to produce beautiful craftsmanship for His glory.
God’s got plans like that for you. We have ‘the helper’ (John 14:26) to let us realize the gift and abilities we have to contribute to the body of Christ.
He’s shaped you with a particular style of personality and style of gifting. He wants to pull out all the stops! To use you in all sorts of wonderful ways that will stretch and fulfil you like nothing and no one else. God has, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future’ (Jeremiah 29:11).
Prayer
Heavenly Father, help me be a great team player with those You have assigned for me to work with – so great things can happen for You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen
