I’m Not Ashamed – Part 2
I am not ashamed of the Gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. Romans 1:16
Those words, “I am not ashamed of the Gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes…” (Romans 1:16). Huge, right? Especially when you think about who Paul (who wrote Romans) was. He had a great reputation for being a religious fanatic. But, you know what, he didn’t let that stop him from being true to what he believed. More than that, it didn’t stop him from stamping his foot and shouting out loud ‘I am not ashamed.’ He stuck with his faith in God and his calling to share the Gospel without even slightly diminishing in his enthusiasm. If anything, the ‘isn’t Paul such a Jesus fanatic’ comments made that fire burn brighter. And that’s a good lesson to learn. No matter how you share your faith, at some point you’ll probably come up against someone who calls you a fanatic. The only thing to do in that situation is to own it. Step up and say, ‘Yeah, I’m a Christian. And “‘I am not ashamed.”’ Also take a sec to think about the last bit of that verse. “The Gospel… is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes.” Well, that’s too substantial a thing for your own shyness to get in the way of. There is no room to be ashamed when people’s souls are on the line. Shout for the sake of the Kingdom.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, help me proclaim You and not be silent when You open up doors for me to share the hope that I have inside me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen
