We Are His People – June 23, 2023

What joy for the nation, whose God is the Lord, whose people He has chosen as His inheritance. The Lord looks down from heaven and sees the whole human race.
Psalm 33:12-13

Hi everyone. I am at the LWML Convention representing Lutheran Church Charities. We have a booth at the exhibit hall and we’ve got our Comfort Dogs here and we’re representing Disaster Relief and Human Care, as well as our Hearts of Mercy and Compassion and, of course, our K-9 Ministries. What a delight to be here at this convention as we celebrate with this incredible ministry known as the LWML.

They are doing such incredible work in the Lord’s Kingdom and we are proud to consider them partners in ministry. The theme of their conference actually comes from Psalm 33, verse 12 and 13, which says, “What joy for the nation, whose God is the Lord, whose people He has chosen as His inheritance. The Lord looks down from heaven and sees the whole human race.”

You know, what an incredible God we have, what incredible joy He gives us to be his people. Think about that. Maybe you haven’t been feeling chosen lately, but the Scriptures tell you the truth. You are. You are chosen by Him to be a royal priesthood. A chosen people, belonging to Him. What joy it is to be God’s people. And I remind you of that today and encourage you with that as you go into this weekend.

Prayer
Gracious God, our Heavenly Father, we thank you so much for the great joy that you fill your people with. Oh, that we can be called the children of God. What an honor and a privilege it is. And what joy, the salvation that you have won for us through your son Jesus brings to us. And then to be able to celebrate it with others is truly a great joy. We are your people, we are called by your name, and we are thankful for all that you have done for us. Be with us as we go into this weekend and grant us that encouragement to continue living life as your people. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

Have a great weekend, everyone. God bless you.
