You were dead because of your sins, because your sinful nature was not yet cut away. Then God made you alive with Christ, for He forgave all our sins. Colossians 2:13
Hi, everyone. Happy Friday. You know, there was a time when people doubted that land travel could ever be faster than a horse. Then came the train. Then came the car. There was a time when people couldn’t believe man could fly. Then came the plane. There was a time when people only dreamed of going to space. And then came the rocket.
And eventually that one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind. And, there was a time when all we knew was sin. Then came Jesus. Colossians 2:13 says, “You were dead because of your sins, because your sinful nature was not yet cut away. Then God made you alive with Christ, for He forgave all our sins.” Be reminded today that because of Jesus, there will be one day in the very soon future when we will say, “There was a time when we knew the pain of death, the sorrow of separation. There was a time when we knew the regret of our sin and the struggle of brokenness.” But in that day, we will say, “But here, in heaven with Jesus, we know these things no more.”
Prayer
Let’s pray. Lord Jesus, we thank You for coming to this Earth. We thank You for the mission that You came, for You came to save us.
And amidst the brokenness, our sinfulness, and the evil that is in this world, You died for it all, that we might be forgiven, that we might know forgiveness that we might know a life that is apart from being trapped and stuck in sinful ways. You’ve given to us, your Holy Spirit, to be a part of our lives, our daily decisions.
So we ask for Your Holy Spirit to come to us this weekend, guide our thoughts our decisions, teach us to follow You more and more as we walk after the paths that You set before us. Especially this weekend, Lord, bless and keep us. And may we rest confidently as we look forward to that day when we know all the pain and struggles that we have here are going to be one of those things that we say, “There was a time, but that time is no more.”
Have a great weekend, everyone.
