“Let all that I am wait quietly before God where my hope is in him.” Psalm 62:5
Happy Friday, everyone. I want to share with those of you who may find yourself in a season of waiting, this devotion entitled, “The Waiting List”.
Some of us are waiting for the world to change. Others are waiting for the world to end. Some of us are waiting for evil to fail. Others are waiting for love to win. Some of us are waiting for the empty to fill. Others are waiting for the full to be given away.
Some of us are waiting for the wrong made right. Others are waiting for the tension to disappear. Some of us are waiting for night to become day. Others are waiting for a full night’s rest. Some of us are waiting for life to begin. Others are waiting for life to return.
Some of us are waiting for a question to be answered. Others are waiting to be asked. Some of us are waiting for the rain to fall. Others are waiting for the storm to end. Some of us are waiting to be paid what we are worth. Others are waiting to feel worthy of what’s been paid. Some of us are waiting for the chance to be free. Others are waiting to give freedom a chance.
Some of us are waiting to figure out the answer. Others are waiting to forget what they didn’t want to know. Some of us are waiting for the truth to be told. Others are waiting for the hard truth to meet grace. And some of us are waiting upon the Lord while others keep God waiting for them.
Psalm 62:5 Let all that I am wait quietly before God where my hope is in him.
Prayer
Dear Lord, in this season of waiting, grant us the strength to be patient and the faith to trust in Your timing. Let us not be discouraged, but rather let us find joy in the anticipation of what You have planned for us. May our hope in You be unwavering. For we know that You are faithful and that Your promises are true. Fill our hearts with peace as we wait, knowing that You are with us every step of the way. We ask this in the strong, and in the mighty name of our risen Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.
