There is no one like the God of Israel. He rides across the heavens to help you, across the skies in majestic splendor.” (Deuteronomy 33:26)
Hi everyone! Happy Friday to each and every one of you.
You know, there is a chapter in Deuteronomy, where Moses is near his death and he says some incredible words to each one of the tribes. And in verse 26 he says these words, “There is no one like the God of Israel. He rides across the heavens to help you across the skies in majestic splendor.”
I just love that picture. The fact that God would cross through and ride across the winds of the sky to reach those who need help to reach and love his people. What an incredible God we have. There is truly no one like God. The God that we worship, the God that we adore, the God who we know through the revelation of His Son, Jesus, the God who gives to us His Holy Spirit, this God is an incredible God. And so just know, as we go into this weekend that that is the God that loves you, and He will ride across the winds to reach you wherever you are.
I’m so happy for Lutheran Church Charities and all the things that we’re facing right now with disasters and with crises and the help that is needed throughout, that we get an opportunity to be that presence of God, in a sense, riding across the wind as His representatives to light and love to those places that so desperately need it.
And, you know, this weekend you have that same opportunity. So again, ride across the wind, whatever that means, wherever that takes you, and go and be the light and love of Jesus this weekend.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, we give You great thanks and praise that You did cross heaven, and You crossed the skies. You came from heaven down to earth to be with us in the middle of our sin.
You died for our sins and You have saved us. Lord Jesus, would You continue to lift us up? And I pray this personally, Lord, that You would help me to be in every place where I need to be to reflect that light and love, so that You would be known as this incredible God as we know You, so others would claim the same. We pray this all in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
Incredible picture/reminder, Chris. Thank you for blessing my day …
