Happy Friday, everyone! In Matthew 24:12, Jesus tells us because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold. On March 30th, 1848, Niagara Falls went silent. People woke up to stillness where thunder should have been. Ice had dammed the flow, and suddenly what was once powerful and constant, dried up. Jesus warned that in a world of growing wickedness, love would also grow cold.
And hasn’t it? The noise of conflict, fear, and division can block the natural flow of compassion. If you notice places where your love has gone quiet – maybe its frustration, bitterness, or exhaustion has built up like an ice dam. God doesn’t want us to freeze over. He invites us to break the silence and let love roar again.
Prayer
Lord, when love goes quiet in me, pick me up. Show me where coldness has crept in. And let Your spirit break through the ice, and restore the steady roar of compassion, mercy and grace in my life, and into the lives of those near me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
