WONDER – April 11, 2025

Happy Friday, everyone! As a kid, I sang a song titled I Wonder How It Felt. It recounted biblical stories with this question, thinking what it must have been like to be in those biblical stories. Have you ever wondered what some of those moments felt like? To be Jonah in the belly of a whale, to be David, meeting Goliath in the field, or Daniel in the lion’s den?

You know, wonder is a really good practice for our spiritual journey. It can awaken us to deeper truths and new understandings. It ignites imagination and creativity, and it can bring a sense of empathy, humility, and gratitude. Psalm 143:5 calls us to this wonderment. It says, “I remember the days of old. I meditate on all that you have done. I pondered the work of your hands.”

I want to give you an opportunity to WONDER, beginning on Sunday. It’s going to mean a chance for you to pause, reflect, and draw closer to Christ during this holy season by following Jesus’ footsteps from the triumphant entry on Palm Sunday to the empty tomb of Resurrection Day.

How? I’m so glad you asked! Let me tell you how.

Beginning on Palm Sunday, I invite you to join me for a special series of daily audio devotionals that follow what Jesus was doing each day—from Palm Sunday to Easter. In your regular LCC devotion email, you’ll receive a bonus link to a moment-by-moment audio experience designed to bring the passion, sacrifice, and hope of Easter right to you each day.

Each day includes scripture readings, reflections, and prayers guiding you through Holy Week in a powerful and personal way. So, let’s walk with Jesus step by step and meditate on the greatest love story ever told.

Prayer
Oh Lord, my God, when I in awesome wonder consider all the worlds Thy hands have made, my soul sings, How great Thou art.

And when I think that You did not spare Your Son, but sent Him to die on a cross—where He bled and died to take away my sin—I can barely take it in.

Yet it is Your love song of salvation for sinners like me.

Renew me in wonderment of this incredible gift of life.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
