Happy Friday, everyone. There’s a quote that says “Sorrow is not a sign of weakness, but a sign that the heart has loved deeply.” On this Good Friday, we pause at the foot of the cross—a place stained by sorrow and yet sacred with love.
Isaiah 53:4 reminds us: “Surely Jesus has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows.” On this day, we don’t rush past the grief. We sit in it. We honor it, because it reminds us of the depth of Christ’s love—the weight that He willingly carried so that one day, our sorrow would be no more.
Yesterday is truly the greatest love story ever told. And that love story is your love story: Christ, for all of your sorrow. Which is why we call it Good Friday, and why I remind you again—Happy Friday, Jesus loves you.
Prayer
Lord Jesus Christ, on this solemn day, we remember Your suffering and the sorrows you bore for us. Thank you for not turning away from our pain, but choosing to enter into it. We stand in awe of Your love—a love that bears grief, that carries burdens, and that conquers death.
Help us not to rush past the cross, but to linger in its shadow and find hope in its promise. May our sorrow today deepen our gratitude, and may our hearts never forget the price You paid. In Your holy name, Amen.
