Today is the New Tomorrow – May 23, 2025

Happy Friday, everyone! As we approach Memorial Day weekend, our hearts turn with gratitude to those who gave everything for the freedoms we enjoy today. You know, their sacrifice was not a sudden decision. It was a culmination of choices – to serve, to endure, to stand firm in the face of fear. It reminds us that greatness, whether in service, in character, or in impact, is rarely built in a single moment.

Rather, it’s shaped one small decision at a time. Proverbs 6:10-11 says, “A little extra sleep, a little more slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest. Then poverty will pounce on you like a bandit, scarcity will attack you like an armed robber.” You know, this warning isn’t just about laziness. It’s about the power of small things repeated.

A little neglect each day leads to much loss. But that principle works in reverse, too. A small positive habit compounded over time, can produce profound change. And that’s true spiritually too. A little daily prayer. A little time in God’s Word. A little act of compassion. Well, these are not small in God’s hands. They form a trajectory that draws you closer to Christ and makes a lasting difference in the world around you. So remember, no one takes one giant step that automatically equals a mile. But by taking one step at a time, today is your new tomorrow.

Prayer
Lord, thank You for the gift of freedom and those who gave up their lives so that we might enjoy that freedom in our country. Thank You, God, for giving us Your Son Jesus, who gave up His life that we might have freedom in our lives.

Would You help us to consider the things that You give to us today? Let us not become discouraged, for maybe they are not everything, but Lord, they are something. As we begin to just take one little step, make one move that leads to a greater trajectory, and where You’re calling us, and where You’re leading us. So remind us that today is our new tomorrow. We pray this in Jesus’ name. Amen.
