A Memorial of Grace and Truth – May 26, 2025

“The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.” (John 1:14)

Happy Memorial Day weekend. A weekend to remember those who sacrificed their lives so that we could live ours in freedom.

You know, every day is a day for us to remember Jesus’s love and salvation won for us with His sacrifice on the cross. We not only saw the sacrifice on Golgotha, but we also have witnessed the glory of His victory at the tomb.

We’ve experienced that same sacrifice in victory through our baptism into Christ Jesus. Because Jesus’s great sacrifice, we are now free citizens of His Kingdom. And you know what? His Kingdom is characterized as being one of grace and truth.

John 1:14 says,
“The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.”

Notice these two words are connected by the word “and.” It isn’t Kingdom of grace or truth—it is a Kingdom that has both of these incredible words. Now, may both grace and truth fill our words and actions as we live in the freedom of Jesus in His Kingdom.

Prayer
Lord Jesus, thank You for the sacrifice that grants us freedom in Your Kingdom. May we live out grace and truth daily in our words and in our actions. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
