Sweet Love – March 6, 2026

2026-03-06 PCS

Hi everybody! Happy Friday!

Some of you may know that we’ve been traveling, doing Spiritual First Aid here in Hawaii. And my wife and I got an opportunity to stop by our favorite cinnamon roll place. I’ve loved cinnamon rolls since I was a kid. And I’m telling you, this is the best cinnamon roll in the whole wide world.

It’s called Papi’s, so if you’re ever here in Maui, you’ve got to try it. You know, it reminded me of Psalm 34:8, which talks about how sweet the word of God is. It’s a sweet taste in our mouth. You know, that is what the Word of God is. Even those moments where it’s correcting us or training us or disciplining us, the result of that is very sweet in our lives.

And I pray that you would take some time this weekend to really spend in God’s Word and to taste that flavor. And of course, I wish you were here with me because I would love to enjoy a cinnamon roll with you. I do want to share with you that we’re going to be going live tomorrow on Facebook, and I hope that you stay on our page and watch for that announcement.

We’re going to give a chance to share, our Hearts of Mercy & Compassion, which are still up here in Lahaina. And I’m going to get a chance to share a couple of stories that have been shared with me. Deep gratitude that has been expressed here from the folks in Maui for the support and the care and the love that Lutheran Church Charities has shown to them, and the difference that you make when you support us.

I’m really excited to bring that to you and share that with you. The stories have been moving and, just very, very thankful for this privilege that we have together to serve Jesus. So as we go into this weekend, I pray your weekend is as sweet as mine is about to be. I can’t wait to get over there and join my wife and get that cinnamon roll.

But I also pray that you would take time to be in God’s Word this weekend. Let’s go to him in prayer.

Prayer
Lord Jesus, we thank You very much for the sweet, sweet love that You showed to us on the cross. That love that gives such a deep meaning to our lives, a purpose to our lives, and really begins to help us begin to get the true flavor of what abundant life is all about.

And so be with us this weekend, and may that love not be only something that we experience in and of our own hearts, but something that other people experience as they talk to us, as they’re, kind of walking with us and as they’re enjoying conversation with us. And so bless us this weekend and we pray this all in Jesus’ name. Amen.
