Work Your Passion – Part 2

A bribe is a charm to the one who gives it; wherever he turns, he succeeds. Proverbs 17:8

Your height isn’t something you were consulted about. Beauty isn’t something you worked at. Both were gifts you were born with. Yes, you can develop your appearance and a surgeon could alter it, but you’re stuck (actually, blessed) with your core uniqueness for the rest of your life.

You’re also blessed with the ‘gift of God’ that’s in you. Solomon said, ‘Receiving a gift is like getting a rare gemstone; any way you look at it, you see beauty refracted’ (Proverbs 17:8). But all gemstones need regular polishing and care. By working on and using your gifts, you’re adding that extra bit of value to the world. So believe in your talents, even when others won’t. Follow your passion. Louis Armstrong auditioned for music school and was asked to sing scales. But he could only sing two notes, and they wrote him off. But he said, ‘There’s music in me and they can’t keep it out,’ and went on to sell millions of records. There’s God in you, and no one can keep that out. So you have no excuse to let your talents and passion go unused.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for the talents and Your presence in my life. Keep me working those gifts from You in my life. In Jesus’ Name, Amen
