High Low And In Between

“For the High and Exalted One who lives forever, whose name is Holy says this:” I live in a high and holy place, and with the oppressed and lowly of spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly and revive the heart of the oppressed.” Isaiah 57:15

Someone once asked, “How many people does it take to change a lightbulb?” The answer? “None; people don’t like change.” Life is wrought with change. We encounter unexpected twists and turns that can sometimes feel like punishment or abandonment. It’s easy to have amnesia when it comes to God’s goodness. Change can cause us to become fearful and doubt God’s care for us. We especially feel this way if an undesirable change is a result of our own doing. It’s imperative we remember that it doesn’t matter if a change is a result of our actions or simply part of living in a fallen world; God’s goodness does not change. Malachi 3:6 and Hebrews 13:8 remind us that our God is a faithful God who doesn’t change. It doesn’t matter if you are feeling high on the mountaintop, sorrowful in the valley or anywhere else in between. Jesus Christ loves you with an everlasting love (Jeremiah 31:3) and there is absolutely nothing in this world or outside of it that can separate you from His love (Romans 8:34-38), including change! We serve the King of kings who is a specialist in meeting the oppressed, lifting the lowly and reviving the downtrodden. There’s no need to fear change. The One who’s Name is Holy loves you with an everlasting love, and that my friend, will never change!

Prayer
Thank You Heavenly Father that You remain unchanged. Through the sacrifice of Your Son, Jesus Christ, I will forever remain in You, the High and Exalted One, who lives forever and ever, amen.
