Mighty To Save

The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in His love He will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing. Zephaniah 3:17

In Psalm 24 we read, “Lift up your heads, you gates; be lifted up, you ancient doors that the King of glory may come in.” (vs.7). The Psalmist then asks, “Who is this King of glory?” The answer? “The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle.” (vs. 8). In the current world’s state of affairs, it is easy to fall into despair and let the nightly news choke out the truth that, “The LORD reigns, let the nations tremble; He sits enthroned between the cherubim, let the earth shake.” Psalm 99:1. Our God is Mighty; mighty to save, sustain, and satisfy. Save: Victory over death and the grave is in the hand of the Lord. He desires that all people be saved and He has made provisions to that end. “Who is this coming from Edom, from Bozrah, with his garments stained crimson? Who is this, robed in splendor, striding forward in the greatness of his strength? “It is I, proclaiming victory, mighty to save.” Isaiah 63:1. Sustain: He sustains us in times of war, famine and struggle. He does not change like the seasons. He remains forever unchanged. God is for us, we need not fear. “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10. Satisfy: Nothing in this world can satisfy us outside of the Lord. He is the Giver of all things and in Him we can be fully satisfied. “I will be fully satisfied as with the richest of foods; with singing lips my mouth will praise You.” Psalm 63:5. Who is this King of glory? His name is EL-GIBHOR, the Lord Mighty in battle, our Mighty Warrior King.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, You are a Mighty God; strong and powerful. Thank You for saving me, sustaining me and satisfying me with Your great love, in Jesus’s Name, Amen.
