What Prayer Is – August 29, 2025

2025-08-29 PCS

Happy Friday, everyone! Do you know what prayer is? Prayer is talking to God.

And throughout the scriptures we are constantly encouraged to cry out to Him, to speak with Him, to bring our concerns and to bring our praises to Him. In fact, in Psalm 69:29, the Psalmist wrote these words, “I am suffering and in pain. Rescue me, O God, by your saving power.”

Even when we’re hurting, even when we’re suffering, in fact, especially when we’re suffering, and especially when we’re hurting—that’s when God wants to hear from us. If that’s you this weekend, I encourage you to reach out to Him, to talk to Him. Don’t give up speaking to Him. He longs to hear from you, and He promises that He will meet you in that prayer.

Prayer
Lord Jesus, we do honor You and thank You and praise You. After all, who are we that You would be mindful of our needs and our cares? And yet You bend down, You bend your ear to us, and You listen to the things that are on our hearts and on our minds. Thank You for that kind of love that You have for us. Give us the confidence, then, to share and to open up. And may we never, never stop talking to You as we get an opportunity that You have given to us in prayer. Be with us now, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

  1. Prayer is a powerful way to connect with God, find peace and seek guidance.
It is a personal and intimate conversation with the divine.
