Happy Friday, everyone! You know, have you ever had to move? I was counting the other day, and in my life, I have probably… well, in the span of ten years I moved six times. And every time, what a season I could not wait to get through! Not fun packing and unpacking. I just don’t like it. There are other seasons in life, however, that are really difficult and challenging.
Some, you don’t really have a timeline on when it is going to end, and you certainly don’t always know when they begin. Suddenly they’re just upon you. And if you’re going through such a season of life, I want to share with you something that I discovered. I was doing the Lectio Divina on Psalm 23. With Lectio Divina you get to take a scripture verse and you read a verse and you emphasize a different word each time.
And when I was reading this, I was really struck by the way this word stood out to me. The word was from Psalm 23:4, “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil.” And on this particular time I emphasized, walk through. Those two words had never really stood out to me before until I really emphasize them.
And I think that is a really good truth for us in that – that even the toughest of seasons are seasons, that we are walking through, they’re seasons that we’re passing through, we’re moving through them. And that’s thanks to our Shepherd. Our great Shepherd, who walks with us through those seasons, leading us and helping us so that we might have that comfort and not be afraid.
So if you find yourself in such a season, keep in mind you’re walking through this season and your Shepherd is with you.
Prayer
Dear Jesus, thank You so much for always going with us. You go before us, behind us, beside us. You walk with us even through those valleys where we might be afraid. We certainly would be afraid without Your presence. But bring to us assurance and hope as we look into Your eyes, as we feel the embrace of Your hand. And as we walk through this season of life. We pray this in Jesus’ name. Amen.

This was great help!! Will share it with others. Thank you.
Thank you for this word, emphasizing Walk Through. This is where I have been in my life for the past 6 months. Losing a beloved pet, having to move from a home we enjoyed, the passing of my mother-in-law…Walking Through!
