Shiny Face – February 20, 2026

Happy Friday, everyone!

As you head into this weekend, I want to send you with a promise. Not my words—God’s words. In Numbers 6, the Lord tells Moses to instruct Aaron:

“The Lord bless you and keep you;
the Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you;
the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.”

And then God says something remarkable. He says, “They shall put my name upon the people, and I will bless them.” When He spoke those words, God was promising to stand behind them, to be faithful, to act.

Now think about this line: “The Lord make his face shine upon you.” Have you thought about that? What does it mean to have God’s face light you up?

Well, it means, first and foremost, that He’s facing you. He has not turned His back on you. Faithful to His promise, God, being rich in mercy, is turned toward you in Jesus. In Christ, His face shines with mercy.

With grace welcoming you, acceptance, peace, and even delight all over you. And just like Moses, who, after being in the presence of the Lord, had to cover his face because it was shining so brightly, so the light of Christ is so bright it transforms us.

You don’t just stand under His shining face; you reflect it. So you go into this weekend both under the shining face of God and reflecting that shine to others. May you be a shining face—a face of peace, a face of grace, a face of mercy. Because when His face shines on you, you become light for someone else.

Prayer
Lord Jesus, thank You so much for turning toward us. God, we thank You for sending your Son and for having Your face shine upon us through Christ—a face that brings to us mercy, grace, and love.

We praise You and thank You for being so rich in mercy that You would see us and that You would delight in us, even though we are sinners. Yet You saved us through your Son, Jesus.

And now that light, being so bright as You faithfully keep Your word and you shine upon us—may You light up our faces. Light up our lives, that others too might see the light of love and mercy and grace that are found in You.

In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
