Jesus answers plainly, “Neither this man, nor his parents, sinned. … But this happened so that the work of God might be displayed in his life.” (John 9:3)

That’s a hard sentence, because Jesus doesn’t offer an explanation. He offers a purpose.

Not every struggle is a punishment.
Not every hardship is payback.
Not every pain has a name you can assign.

Sometimes the question isn’t, “Who caused this?” but “What will God reveal here?”

God does not create suffering for sport, but He does refuse to waste it.

Even here, even now, even in the things you don’t understand.
This is not about blame. It’s God at work.

Prayer
Jesus free me from the need to assign blame. Help me trust You when answers are missing. Show Your work in my life and help me to trust You even when I can’t understand it. Amen.
