“For just as each of us has one body with many members, so in Christ, we, though many, form one body.” (Romans 12:4-5)
Faith does not begin with me. It begins with we.
From the very beginning, God said it’s not good for man to be alone. Not because Adam needed company, but because God was creating community.
The church is not a collection of individuals who happen to believe the same thing. It’s one body, many parts, different gifts, but the same spirit.
We don’t all look the same.
We don’t all function the same.
And that’s the point.
Faith brings a lot of differences into one body.
Not to compete. Not to compare, but to belong.
Before Jesus ever sends us, He gathers us.
Before He calls us to go, He calls us together.
We is not an idea we invented. We is God’s design.
Prayer
Lord, thank You for creating us for community, not isolation. Remind us that we belong to You and to one another and shape us into one body led by your Holy Spirit. Amen.

What a wonderful message! Thank you. I believe you are correct about God’s design for us.
It also reminds me of the song lyrics to “We Are the Church” (lyrics by Donald S. Marsh)
“The church is not a building. The church is not a steeple. The church is not a resting place…the church is a people.” The WE…you shared in your devotion…are the church.
Children enjoy this song. I used it for SS and Jr. Choir. The lyrics support thoughts you shared about “WE is God’s Design” God created us for community…and to be His church! He did not want us to live in isolation but together in fellowship with one another.
Amen and Thank you, Lord!
Blessings…Mary Hoien
I absolutely love your new devotion format, so much easier to read & digest. Thank you for keeping Jesus in our daily focus!
“This is most certainly true!” thank you.
