He Is In Your Boat – June 12, 2026

2026-06-12-PCS

Happy Friday, everyone!

You know, someone once said, “You’re either coming out of a storm, heading into a storm, or currently, like me, in a storm.”

Life has a way of proving that true.

Some of us are breathing a sigh of relief because a difficult season is finally behind us, and some of us can see some dark clouds forming on the horizon in front of us. And we know there’s a challenge coming, and some of us right now are right in the middle of wind and waves in a crazy hectic storm.

You know, the disciples knew exactly what that felt like. One moment they were sailing across the Sea of Galilee. The next moment, they were fighting for their lives in the middle of a storm.

Waves crashed over the boat.
The wind howled.
Fear was taking over.

And where was Jesus? Oh, He was sleeping. At least that’s how it appeared.

The disciples woke Him with a desperate question. “Teacher, don’t You care if we drown?”

Have you ever felt that way?
“Lord, do you see what’s happening?”
“Don’t you see this or you paying attention?”
“Lord, don’t you care?”

Well, Jesus stood up and spoke just three words. “Quiet! Be still.” (Mark 4:39)

That storm was real. The danger was real. And the disciples fear was real. But Jesus was greater — and He still is.

As we head into this weekend, remember this:
The storm doesn’t get the last word.
The diagnosis won’t have the last word.
The conflict doesn’t get the last word.
The uncertainty will not have the final word.

In fact, the One who has the last word is Jesus. And the One who commanded peace over the Sea of Galilee still speaks peace into anxious hearts today.

So take a deep breath. The storm may be still around you, but Christ is still with you, and that changes everything.

Whether you’re coming out of a storm, heading into a storm, or sitting in one this weekend, remember the presence of Jesus is greater than the power of the storm.

Have a blessed Friday.
Rest well.
Trust deeply the One who calms storms.
He’s in your boat.

Prayer
Lord Jesus, thank You so much for always being with us. And Lord, forgive us for those moments where we misread Your silence as being something that means You don’t care. You very much care. And You prove that when You went to the cross for the forgiveness of all of our sins, to make sure that no matter how grave the storm would be, our lives would be forever wrapped into Your care and into Your arms. And so, whether we’re heading into a storm, whether we’re coming out of a storm, or whether we’re sitting in a storm this weekend, remind us that You are the one who is in our boat and that You have command over the wind and the waves. Grant us that peace. Most importantly, grant us trust in these storms of life. And we thank You for everything. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
