More Than Enough – July 10, 2026

2026-07-10 PCS

Hey, happy Friday, everyone!

This past Sunday, I got a chance to preach at Lord of Glory in Grayslake, and I had the text Jesus feeding the 5,000.

You know, the disciples looked at five loaves and two fish and immediately did the math and came up with this conclusion. Not enough.

You know, honestly, that’s how many of us end the week.

Not enough time.
Not enough energy.
Not enough patience.
Not enough money.
Not enough answers.

But the miracle wasn’t that the bread that day suddenly became different. The miracle began when it was placed at the feet and in the hands of Jesus.

It was still the same bread and the same fish, but it fell into different hands.

And in that same way, we may have the same life, but something happens when we place our lives into the hands of Jesus.

As you head into this weekend, maybe you’re carrying burdens that seem larger than what you have to offer. Maybe it’s a difficult conversation, or a family situation, a health concern, or maybe it’s uncertainty about the future.

Before you try to figure it all out, simply place it at the feet and in the hands of Jesus. He’s got a way of doing far more than we could ever imagine.

And that’s exactly what Paul reminds us of. He says, “Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us.” (Ephesians 3:20)

You know, I pray this weekend that you would discover again that what seems insufficient in your hands becomes more than enough in His.

Prayer
Lord Jesus, thank You so much for loving us and caring for us and always providing for what we need. Lord, help us when we feel as though we are at the end of our resources — like what we have and what You’ve given to us and entrusted to us when it feels like it’s just not enough. Help us to trust You as we place it into Your hands and then watch as You multiply. Perhaps, maybe in some ways, the little that You give us — in order to take on the multitudes. We thank You so much for Your love for us. Remind us of that love. Remind us that You’ve provided everything we have needed, including the fact that we have heaven opened up to us because of what You gave us at the cross. We ask now that You would give us a great weekend. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
