Stop The Blame Game – August 24, 2026

2026-08-24-PCS

“This happened so that the work of God might be displayed.” (John 9:3)

When something goes wrong, our instinct is to ask, “Whose fault is this?”

Mine.
Theirs.
God’s.

But Jesus refuses that question.

When asked who sinned, He answers with a different lens: “So that the work of God might be displayed.”

That doesn’t mean God causes suffering for sport.
It means He never wastes it.

Letting God be God means trusting that even broken things can become places of revelation, not explanation.

Revelation.

Prayer
God, we release our need to assign blame. Help us to trust You when answers are incomplete. Do Your work in us where we feel most broken as we place our story into Your hands. Amen.

  1. Chris:

I appreciate your change in format in your Monday devotions. Thanks for the work.

On faults, it reminded me of this:
Two geologists in California were talking after an earthquake. The first one looked at the other and said, “It’s not my fault.”

Hopefully that brought you a smile!

    Blessings.
