“My grace us sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.” (2 Corinthians 12:9)

There is a blessing that has been passed from one generation to another. It goes like this: I wish you enough.

Enough sun to brighten the gray days.
Enough rain to help you appreciate the sun.
Enough joy to keep your spirit alive.
Enough pain to help you recognize even the smallest of gifts.
Enough hellos to carry you through those final goodbyes.

That’s a beautiful wish. And it’s not a wish for endless ease. It’s not a wish that life would never hurt.

It’s actually a wish for enough.

Enough to sustain you.
Enough to remind you that both sorrow and joy are part of this life.
Enough to keep going.

And that’s what Jesus promises. Not that every day will be easy. Not that every question will be answered, and not that we will always understand the road either we’re on or the road ahead.

But simply this: that His grace will be enough.

His grace is sufficient. When Paul asked God to remove his thorn, God did not give Paul the answer he wanted. He actually gave him something better — He gave him Himself. He said to him, “My grace is sufficient for you.”

No matter what today brings, Jesus is enough for today.
Enough forgiveness for your sin.
Enough mercy for your failure.
Enough strength in your weakness.
Enough hope in the midst of fear.
Enough grace for that next step.

So go in peace and confidence today. Because Jesus has given you enough.

Prayer
Jesus, thank You that Your grace is sufficient for me. When I feel weak, remind me that Your power is not limited by my weakness. When I fear what is ahead, give me faith for today. When I feel empty, fill me again with Your mercy and hope. And help me trust that You are enough. In Jesus’s name I pray. Amen.
