What Are You Waiting For? – October 30, 2026

2026-10-30 PCS

Happy Friday, everyone!

I have a question for you as we go into this weekend: What are you waiting for?

Maybe it’s a problem to be solved.
Maybe it’s a season to end.
Or maybe a new one to start.

Perhaps you’ve lost someone you love. And maybe you’re waiting for that morning when the ache isn’t the first thing you feel when you open your eyes.

You know, sometimes waiting takes everything we have just to keep going. And somewhere in the middle of it, we begin to wonder, “How long can I keep doing this?”

Listen to what Peter says: “And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.” (1 Peter 5:10)

I want you to notice who does the work.

It’s God Himself.

Peter doesn’t tell hurting people to pull themselves together.
He points them to the God who holds them together.

That’s who we have in our God.
God who restores what is torn.
Who steadies when loss shakes us up.
Who supplies strength when ours is gone.
Who gives a foundation that suffering cannot take away.

That foundation is Jesus Christ crucified and risen for us.

That doesn’t mean that waiting won’t hurt, but it does mean your pain is not proof that God has forgotten you. Just look at the cross. Look at the empty tomb. His love for you is not a question your circumstances have to answer.

Jesus already did.

So whatever you’re carrying into this weekend, you don’t have to pretend it’s light.

You can tell God you’re tired.
You can ask for help.
You can rest in this: The God who holds you now also holds your future.

Jesus is coming back.
The waiting will end.
His love will not.

Prayer
Lord Jesus, we thank You very much for being with us always. We thank You for Your understanding of who we are and how we’ve been created to be. You understand our weakness and You have empathy for us, as You had taken on our hearts and our brokenness to the cross Yourself. Would You help us with the things that we are carrying this weekend? As many of us may be tired and worn and still suffering? We just ask, Heavenly Father, that You would grant to us that restoration, that strength, that You would establish that firm foundation again underneath our feet, that foundation of faith in You. Give us hope — a hope that still fans that flame into the darkness. And we pray that You would grant us an incredible trust and hope in You. And we pray this in Jesus’s name. Amen.
